Arnold Schwarzenegger museum opens in Austria

The bodybuilder turned actor who became the governor of California now has his own museum in the home where he grew up, with emphasis on his bodybuilding career and the work it took to become a five-time Mr. Universe.

Schwarzenegger lived in the house from 1947 to 1966, according to BBC news. The museum will contain items from his early bodybuilding efforts, including some of his first dumbbells, trophies and a weighted pulley that hung from a door frame, reportedly his first weight machine.

Time NewsFeed noted that his acting career is also highlighted, with props from his roles in the Conan and Terminator series. The museum reportedly informs visitors about his path from bodybuilding to acting, discussing how he trained to get ripped.

The museum is in a village called Thal, outside a city named Graz. When Arnold lived there, the house had no water or electricity, but he pumped enough iron to be among the world's most famous bodybuilders.

There is also a section about Schwarzenegger's time as governor. The museum coordinator told BBC news that the former governor always visits Thal when in Austria, and that she believes the Austrian people are proud of his accomplishments.
