Get ripped using the 300 workout


Looking to build muscles that could conquer a whole army? Consider the workout the actors used in the movie 300. The website for Men's Health magazine has been touting the effects of the workout ever since actor Gerard Butler was on the over of the periodical discussing how he got ripped.


The routine is a combination of push-ups, pull-ups, weight lifting and other tecniques. The actors warned that although it looks simple on paper, it is an extremely arduous workout that can exhaust even the most fit person.


"One actor from 300, Andrew Pleavin, completed the workout in 18 minutes, 11 seconds," said contributor Craig Ballantyne. "He didn't practice this workout ... and neither did I. My time? 19:07. My butt was kicked by a Hollywood actor!"


WebMD reports that the workout was not done daily by the actors, but as part of a final test at the end of shooting. It took months of weight training and exercise for the professionals to complete the routine, so anyone looking to try it out should go slowly.
