
CKO Kickboxing in New Jersey has grown from a single location to 26 throughout the tri-state area since 1997. Some women reported joining to lose weight, but kickboxers may stay for other reasons as well.
Building muscle and working out can increase confidence and happiness, some said, improving the state of mind as well as strengthening the body. One woman joined to lose weight after having her third child and continued long enough to become an instructor and co-owner of one of CKO's locations.
Martial arts, sports and exercise can be used to build muscle and work out, although for serious bodybuilding you may need to pursue weight training or other methods more focused on strength gain.
Still, balanced workouts can help you make sure your growing muscle comes in as lean muscle mass, so you can get ripped and have the body you want.
