New device helps disabled people workout

Just because a person may be older or partially disabled, doesn't mean they can't get ripped. Newly developed strengthening devices are designed for this population as they exercise the body without compressing the joint or back.

Called Body Oars, the devices have been shown to help strengthen the heart and muscle core of people who cannot walk or stand for long periods of time. They work by eliminating the impact part of a workout to take the pressure off of joints and instead use water resistance to build muscle.

"Without the joint smashing and grinding, most of the exercises we discovered are very empowering for the elderly, obese and mobility disabled people," said Craig Wise, lead engineer of the devices.

More research needs to be conducted to determine the long-term effects of Body Oars. Another thing that can help people looking to get ripped is a nitric oxide supplement that may aid in strengthening the muscles.
