Want to get ripped? There's an app for that

Bodybuilders and people who want to build muscle know that they should be eating high-protein, low-sugar foods, but some may find it difficult to cook such meals without getting bored. After all, chicken breast, steamed broccoli and rice can get old after a while.

Luckily, there are mobile applications available for the Android, iPad, iPhone and iPod touch in which individuals looking to get ripped or simply build muscle can look up healthy, innovative recipes.

First, High Protein Recipes for Bodybuilding is specially designed to meet the needs of serious weight-lifters and can be found on iTunes. It includes 30 dietitian-developed meals, nutrition facts, images, shopping lists and free unlimited updates, among other features.

The Voskos Greek Yogurt Recipes App is available for the iPhone or Android, and is free on iTunes and provides 100 high-protein, low-fat and low-sugar recipes, with new dishes introduced monthly.

"The app allows you to search recipes by keywords, and save a list of your favorites for your next trip to the grocery store. Greek yogurt is such a healthful addition to the diet," said registered dietitian Janet Mertz, quoted by PerishableNews.com.
