Joe Wooten, Co-Founder and President of World Championship Full Contact (WCFC), recently announced MatchFights will be at the Las Vegas Convention Center on September 16 and 17, as part of Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend exhibition. The event will include tournaments in disciplines like kickboxing, grappling and mixed martial arts, and WCFC intends to sponsor several of its active fighters in multiple weight classes.
Wooten said WCFC was proud to be invited to the event, and hoped both to draw loyal fans and find new ones. He stated the WCFC plans a strong showing, and noted the strong ties between mixed martial arts and bodybuilding, pointing out that both disciplines require a commitment to a high level of physical training, and they share many fans.
Olympia Weekend is a two-day bodybuilding event, and will feature over a hundred exhibitors, as well as the competitive tournaments. Bodybuilding events to show off ripped abs and muscles include the fitness, figure and bikini contests for women and the 202 showdown for men as well as the Mr. and Ms. Olympia competitions.
