Boost your confidence to get ripped

Individuals who are having trouble beginning a weight-lifting routine to achieve ripped abs - or those who can start a regimen but experience difficulty keeping up with the daily exercise it takes to look like a bodybuilder - may be interested to know that all it takes is self-efficacy.

In a clinical trial, researchers at the University of Illinois found that people who are confident and reliant on themselves are more likely to stick with an exercise routine.

The scientists found that simple techniques like thinking about past successes, watching others achieve lofty goals or asking for support from others may be effective in gaining self-efficacy.

"These self-regulatory processes are really concerned with our ability to plan, to schedule physical activity into our daily life, to inhibit undesirable responses, such as sitting in front of the TV when you could be out working in your yard or walking around the block," said lead researcher Edward McAuley.

Results of this study suggest that all it takes to get ripped is a little inspiration. This may be achieved by recruiting a workout partner or using nutritional supplements that will help you along in your efforts.
