There are many benefits to exercise, including that it can lead building increased muscle and getting ripped. The Mayo Clinic reports that exercise controls weight, can reduce the risk of developing certain heart conditions and improve a person's mood.
Researchers from the University of Michigan have found that the best way to get people to exercise is to stress the immediate benefits of working out rather than long-term improved health.
"Promoting exercise for health is logical, but people's daily decisions are more often connected to emotion than logic," said researcher Michelle Segar, from the University of Michigan, quoted by HealthCanal.com . "A more effective 'hook' is to re-brand exercise to emphasize the immediate benefits that enrich daily living, such as stress reduction and increased vitality."
Scientists found that messages that promote the boost of energy that exercise can give you are more effective than touting the disease-reducing properties of working out.
This suggests that being more specific about the immediate ways that exercise can make you feel better rather than the more general "it will make you healthier" statement may encourage people to workout more.
