Getting ripped is hard work, and it's all about knowing how to build muscle instead of fat. This is easier said than done, however, as it requires not only doing the right kinds of workouts, but eating well too. If you're looking to start a routine to get the six-pack you've always wanted, then here are a few tips for building lean muscle.
First, only do exercises that you can feel are working. Even the best body building workouts will stop working after awhile, so if you don't see results anymore than it may be time to switch things up. Also, you may be doing the wrong exercises for your body type.
"I’m naturally thin with long arms. The flat bench press is a crappy exercise for me if I want to hit the chest. The decline bench press is much better for my body type, as it takes the stress of my triceps and shoulders, putting more stress where it belongs, the chest," said body building author Gregg Gillies.
Also, if you're trying to build muscle quickly then it's important to limit the other physical activity you're engaging in. Your body needs rest, so don't do intense resistance workouts followed by 10-mile jogs.
