
At any boys or girls night out, trying to get ripped is usually not on the agenda, but heavy eating and drinking usually are. Beer and other alcoholic beverages can contain hundreds of calories, not to mention the inevitable headache the next day. Also, drinking tends to make people eat more greasy foods, which can lead to weight gain.
In response to this, The New York Times reports that gyms have now been hosting bachelorette parties to help the ladies have fun and stay in shape in the process.
"When you’re trying to be really fit and lose weight, you really are thinking of it as every day counts, so why not make working out part of the celebration," said bachelorette Casey Crowe, quoted by the news source.
Jezebel.com also reported on this subject and said that although the concept may make some women shudder, they should consider that getting an extra boost of confidence and energy before the big day may be better than getting drunk and passing out.
