Ballet-yoga mix is hottest new fitness trend

RipFire to get ripped

When you're trying to get ripped, it can be easy to get bored with your exercise routine. This is why it's important to check out new fitness trends that are popping up every day. For example, The Star Tribune, a Minnesota news source, reports that a new workout called barre has been sweeping the nation. The exercise is based ballet-inspired moves, to help people get the trim physique of a dancer - without the slippers or tutus.

"Everyone's been talking about getting their butts kicked in barre class," said Sarah Pepin, of Minneapolis, quoted by the news source. "I've never worked every muscle that way before. I could hardly walk the next day."

The class uses a combination of ballet, yoga and Pilate's movements to force each participant to tense all of their muscles. Gyms in several major cities have begun offering these programs, and individuals who have taken the class are reporting noticeable results.

RealBuzz.com reports that ballet helps develop both upper and lower body strength by utilizing core muscles, which can help you get both stronger and more toned.
