
While it's a smart idea to keep your get ripped routine indoors during the winter months, some people can't stay focused on their workout if they're stuck inside. Recently, The Huffington Post ran an article detailing some fun and healthy activities that can be done outdoors when it's cold outside.
First, if you've never tried snowboarding, the news source suggests giving it a whirl this season, since you can burn up to 485 calories an hour.
"Long associated with slackers, snowboarding is actually quite a major effort: the necessary balance to navigate a board down an advanced course - or even a beginner's hill - requires exceptional core strength and power. And it pays off, with a major calorie burn," according to the news source.
The Post also recommended ice climbing, ice skating, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
Metro WNY, a Buffalo, New York news source states that people in Buffalo area have begun renting snowshoes as a fun way to get out in the woods during the extremely cold months.
