Have you been trying to get ripped but aren't seeing the results you want? It could be due to the fact that you believe some of the common exercise myths that keep people from getting into shape. Recently, Forbes spoke to personal trainer Maik Wiedenbach, who de-bunked some of these myths for their readers.
First, he said that just because you exercise, it doesn't mean you can get away with an unhealthy diet. Eating right and exercising are two things that need to go hand-in-hand in order to get real results.
Next, the expert said that it's not enough to just tone muscle without losing weight as well.
"You can only lose fat. Your muscles are already toned or you wouldn’t be able to move around. They’re just not visible because of the layer of fat covering them," said Wiedenbach, quoted by the news source.
Fitness Magazine also explored some myths when it comes to working out. The news source said that contrary to what some people may believe, running will not counteract a muscle-building routine, but rather it will enhance it. Also, the magazine added that crunches and ab workouts will not get people toned if they don't lose overall weight beforehand.
