It's important to switch up your get ripped routine so you don't get bored and stop exercising. Luckily, this is easy to do because there are so many interesting activities out there that are fun and can help build muscle. For example, Los Angeles ABC News affiliate KABC recently reported on the many physical benefits of skateboarding, an activity that most people don't associate with getting ripped.
"I was never good at skateboarding. But I grabbed it and dropped down on my knees and started doing abdominal movements. The light went on and about 200 exercises later, I started writing out this whole skateboard training routine," said Ky Evans, an instructor at The Studio MDR in Marina Del Rey, quoted by the news source.
Evans said to grab a board, making sure to have something nearby to hold on to, and try some back muscles. The fitness expert said you'll be working out your calf, hamstring, glute, oblique and lower abs.
Families.com also pointed out an interesting thing about skateboarding. Learning to do tricks, while not necessarily increasing your fitness level, will enhance your timing and coordination skills, both of which are important for athletes.
