It can be difficult to find time to get ripped, especially if you have a traditional 9-to-5 office job. Workplaces that require their employees to sit all day can also expect to have a heavier staff if they don't take the time to encourage staffers to remain physically active. Recently, The Sydney Morning Herald published an article detailing some simple exercises to that you can do throughout the your day at the office to keep from falling victim to the growing obesity trend.
First, just get up and move every now and then. Walking around for 5-minute intervals at least four times a day may not qualify as a workout, but it will reduce stress while keeping your joints moving.
Next, if your office has the space for it, the news source suggests using any open rooms for a quick workout.
"All you need is a $10 jump rope, and you can get a 30-minute session in of 150 jumps quickly followed by 20 push ups, 20 sit ups, and 20 squats. Rest one minute between rounds, and see how many rounds you can perform," according to the Herald.
If that seems like too much for you, Miliatry.com suggests doing some simple stretches at your desk. For example, stretch one arm across your body and then gently pull it with the other one. This relieves tension in your upper back and shoulder muscles.
