It seems like there is constantly new research coming out that suggests that you can get ripped at any age, as long as you stay motivated. The National Institutes of Health states that staying physically fit is one of the best things elderly people can do to keep themselves in good overall health. Recently, The Huffington Post ran an article with some recommendations for exercises for the older crowd. 


First, the news source suggested that you can increase the benefits of your afternoon walk by adding some weights to it.


"[Bring] weights along to build strength in your arms and boost the cardio benefits. Strength-building techniques like pushups, squats and lunges have the benefit of being easy to do at home or squeeze into buckets of free time throughout the day," according to the Post.


The news provider also recommended swimming, because it is easy on the joints while still providing an impressive cardio and muscle workout. Of course, anyone concerned about their health should speak to their doctor before beginning an exercise regimen.
