Finding time to get ripped can be particularly difficult if you don't live or work anywhere near a gym. Recently, the New York Times reported on a new trend that may soon eliminate the need to head to your local Y every time you want to exercise on some equipment. Called the pop-up workout, it's a fitness class run by the company KiwiSweat, which sets up in odd spaces for a short amount of time and is then gone.
KiwiSweat's owners look for spaces that can be rented for a few days at a time, and then inform their clientele of where the fitness classes will be taking place. Some of the locations they have chosen include the Chelsea Market, and several art spaces in Brooklyn.
"We're trying to transform the mundane piece of exercising out of the normal gym workout," said Alicia Thomas, co-founder of KiwiSweat.
If more of these classes begin popping up in convenient locations, then it may encourage more individuals to take the time to exercise. As the National Institutes of Health puts it, there are 1,440 minutes in every day, and all you have to do is set aside 30 of them for physical activity to help keep your weight and overall health under control.
