You don't have to go outside for a good workout

RipFire to get ripped

The winter can take a toll on your plans to get ripped, especially if your gym isn't right around the corner. Recently, The Kansas City Star described some at-home workouts that older people can do, but that can also be used as an alternative if you can't make it out on those snowy days.

First, you need to have the right equipment in your house. This isn't hard, considering all you really need is a medium-sized exercise ball and a few dumbbells. Lay on floor with the lower half of your legs on the ball. Then, cross your arms across your chest and raise your shoulders up, then slowly lower them back down. This sit-up can do wonders for your core.

"To strengthen your thigh muscles, lie on your back and put your heels on the ball. Lift your pelvis up high, then lower it. Repeat 10 times. This exercise mainly works the hamstrings at the back of the thigh. Do ball squats to work the quadriceps muscles in the front," suggested the news source.

FitWatch.com recommends jogging in place, squats, dancing and jumping jacks as great exercises you can do without leaving the comfort of home.
